Photo credits

The site uses 46 pictures. Thirty are real photographs taken from Wikimedia Commons, the free media library, and each is used under the license its author chose: Creative Commons licenses of several kinds, CC0, or the public domain. The table below lists every photograph with a link to its Commons page, its author as Commons records it, and its license.

The other 16 are AI-generated pictures, made for this site for scenes such as a crawlspace or a water heater in a utility room. Each one is labeled as AI-generated wherever it appears, so it is never presented as a photograph of a real Clarksville house.

What was changed

All pictures were cropped to the same 4:3 shape and resized for fast loading. On some photographs, details that could identify a business or a person were hidden:

• brand names on a kettle and a dish-soap bottle, magazine titles, a water meter's maker name and utility initials on a meter lid were blurred;
• signs at a water plant and beside a road, and a door number, were blurred;
• people on a walkway at a river intake were blurred;
• one lawn photograph was cropped to remove cars and license plates, and one archive photograph was cropped to remove a handwritten caption.

The table notes which pictures were blurred or cropped. Anyone who wants to reuse a photograph should start from its Commons page, where the author's license terms for the original file are set out in full.
